- To promote family day care as a quality child care service and create more understanding of how we operate throughout Queensland
- To have representation on committees which determine the rules and conditions that are applicable to FDC
- To liaise as a united voice with the governing bodies associated with child care (especially child care in Australia)
- To have input into the National Standards, the Regulations and Accreditation for FDC.
- To develop a network of communication and support between care providers in Queensland – no matter what the distance
- To make sure that care providers never feel alone or isolated when experiencing difficulties and to advise them of their rights
- To promote co-operation and communication between Care Providers, Co ordination Units, Sponsors and Parents
- To provide a direct link between, the Queensland FDC Association, State Advisory Committee and FDCA so that issues can be addressed by all parties associated with FDC
- To provide a forum for the views of Care Providers in Queensland, and finally
- To support care providers in their endeavor to provide quality care through regular newsletters and by organizing relevant workshops and conferences
